Ans. Scales help to make accurate maps. 

3. If a scale in a map says 1 cm = 150 km ,what does this mean ?

Ans. If a scale in a map says 1 cm = 150 km it shows the connection between the actual size of something and the size that is drawn on the map.

4. Explain how colours and symbols in maps are useful ?

Ans. Colours in a map have meanings which help us to understand a map and symbols are useful as they special signs used in a map. Colours and symbols both help us to understand and read the maps.
